The Monsoon Cup 2009 is coming soon

The Monsoon Cup 2009 will offer the largest reward ever offered in any world sailing event, reaching USD454,000 (RM1.57 million), the championship's adviser, Datuk Peter Gilmour, said.

It is the Monsoon Cup season again. The Monsoon Cup 2009 will be held from 1st of December till the 6th of December. The Monsoon Cup in this few years has succeeded in establishing Terengganu as the most remarkable locations for sailing in the world.

The event will once again see the participation of international sailors such as Adam Minoprio from New Zealand, Ian Williams from Britain, Torvar Mirsky from Australia and Fransceso Bruni from Italy.

Bruni makes the excellent Italy’s team

The main aim for Fransceso Bruni in the Monsoon Cup 2009 is to get into the semi-finals.

This is the second time the Italian skipper went into the final stage of the World Match Racing Tour after competing in the first Monsoon Cup in 2005 where his Luna Rossa Challenge crew were the 10th team from the total of 12 teams.

Bruni and his crew has been preparing thoroughly for the Monsoon Cup which will be held in Pulau Duyong, Kuala Teregganu on the coming 1st to 6th Dec 2009.

Bruni is in outstanding form with sailing Italy’s Azzurra Team into the final of the Louis Vuitton Trophy. Click here for more information regarding Louis Vuitton Trophy.

"We have had an intense preparation, with the Louis Vuitton Trophy in Nice and before that a grade 2 event in Bayona (Spain)," said Bruni. Thier team will be going for Australia Cup next week in Perth too, he adds on.
